CWA "Night To Remember" Results From Friday, March 11, 2016 Ripley, MS


This past Friday's CWA "Night To Remember" began with the playing of the national anthem followed by a special 10-bell salute in honor of Rodney Grimes' beloved mother, Rosa Lee, who passed away in January.

Opening Match-"Bullwhip" Ballard defeated Johnny Morton-Referee Turtle

Rodney Grimes announced that there would be several new additions enshrined into the CWA Hall of Fame.  They would join the illustrious company which includes the likes of "The American Dream" Dusty Rhodes, Dr. Tom Prichard, Jerry "The King" Lawler, "Superstar" Bill Dundee, Tommy Gilbert and King Cobra to name a few.  On this epic night, Rodney inducted Keith Hayes, "Gentleman" Jim Casey, "The Wild Eyed Southern Boy" Tracy Smothers, "The Taskmaster" Kevin Sullivan and "Boogie Woogie Man" Handsome Jimmy Valiant.  Jimmy Valiant then presented Rodney with a special plaque in honor of his late mother, Rosa Lee.  In closing, Jimmy Valiant asked Rodney Grimes to put on his tights, lace up his boots and join him and "Boogie Woogie Boy" Gary Valiant one more time in a match to pay tribute to his mom.  An emotional Rodney accepted the offer.  To view more of Tia's pictures from the CWA Hall of Fame ceremony, visit http://wrestlingnewscenter.blogspot.com/2016/03/cwa-hall-of-fame-3-11-16.html





 

2nd Match-Lonnie Brown & Holly Hood defeated XXL, "The Flatliner" Brandon White & "The Showcase" Jaxson Hawke with "Gentleman" Jim Casey-Referee C-Lo

There was an intense confrontation between The Hollywood Clique and Rodney Grimes, Gary Valiant and Jimmy Valiant before their match in which "Hollywood" Jimmy claimed that Jimmy Valiant was one of the worst fathers ever.  Rodney Grimes fired back at Blaylock by saying that every time we come to Ripley, he acts like a jackass.

3rd Match-"Mega Man" Rodney Grimes, "Boogie Woogie Boy" Gary Valiant & "Boogie Woogie Man" Handsome Jimmy Valiant accompanied by The American Assassin defeated The Hollywood Clique members Neil "The Real Deal" Taylor, Jai Webb & a Mystery Man in purple managed by "Hollywood" Jimmy Blaylock, who broke his cane during the match while interfering-Referee Turtle

4th Match-Rodney Mack & Matt Justyce managed by Big Ramp & Professor P defeated The Dirty Blondes, Leo Brien & Mike Patrick-Referee Joey Lynn

5th Match-Ladies Match-Current TNA Knockout and member of The Dollhouse, Rebel defeated Jessie Belle Smothers, who was accompanied by her dad, "The Wild Eyed Southern Boy" Tracy Smothers and brother, Lonnie Brown-Referee JC Henderson-Tracy was torn during the match because his daughter was wrestling his crush.  Yeah, Tracy was spitting that game to Rebel.  Rebel won with a flexible backslide.

Rodney Grimes introduced one of his most bitter rivals throughout the years, "Outlaw" Don Bass.  Rodney shared a story about their heated feud which resulted in Don Bass piledriving Rodney Grimes' mom, Rosa Lee.  Don Bass said that Rosa Lee was the toughest woman that he's ever seen and one time if it hadn't been for the police being there, she would have choked him to death.  Don Bass added that it's an honor to be here tonight to memorialize such a great woman and family.  "Bless your heart, Rodney."

6th Match-"Snake Man" Mitch Toretta defeated The Original Hitman with Keith Hayes-Referee Joey Lynn-Following the match, Hitman was gasping for air after being on the receiving end of a massive Toretta swanton.

7th Match-Rodney Mack accompanied by Big Ramp & Professor P defeated  "The Wild Eyed Southern Boy" Tracy Smothers, who was joined at ringside by his daughter, Jessie Belle Smothers & son, Lonnie Brown-Referee JC Henderson-Tracy was nonstop laughs before and after this one, jumping on the Ripley crowd, announcing, "If I hear Tracy sucks, I'm going to have my son and daughter come out there and slap everyone of you, individually!"  Tracy also tried to smooth things over with his opponent, Rodney Mack and company, claiming that his helicopter was about to land so they could all just load up and go to London together.  Tracy Smothers added that he wanted Rodney Mack and his crew to switch from rap music to country.  Needless to say, "The Redd Dogg" didn't bite on that one and when it was all said and done, poor Tracy was blaming everyone for losing the bout.

Semi Main Event-Tokyo Monster Kahagas managed by "The Taskmaster" Kevin Sullivan defeated Antonio Garza-Referee C-Lo

Main Event-Buff "The Stuff" Bagwell & oWo Champion Danny Dollar defeated "Nature Boy" Paul Lee & Shane Andrews with Jessie Belle Smothers-Referee Turtle
