"Wrestling The Curse"

The Adkissons had a successful family business in Texas, but it wasn't a typical enterprise passed on from father Jack to his five sons. It was professional wrestling, and they were the "Von Erichs," bringing entertainment to towns all across the Lone Star State in the 1980s — and heartbreak to themselves. Director Amanda Spain tells their story with the help of Kevin, "The Barefoot Wonder" and last surviving brother. Now at peace and living in Hawaii, Kevin bears witness to the perilous hold that wrestling still has on his family.

Rey Mysterio apparently gone from WWE

Brock Lesnar currently "at an impasse" with WWE over contract

In an update to a story making the rounds on Tuesday following the 2/23 WWE RAW taping in Nashville, a new report by Dave Meltzer on MMAFighting.com has revealed that current WWE World Heavyweight Champion Brock Lesnar is currently at an impasse with WWE regarding the terms of a new contract with the company.

Lesnar and WWE Chairman/CEO Vince McMahon were described as not budging leading to Lesnar leaving the taping and not appearing on RAW despite WWE pushing that he would be making an appearance. Lesnar has four dates remaining on his current deal including 3/9 in Pittsburgh, 3/23 in Los Angeles, 3/29 in Santa Clara and 3/30 in San Jose.

McMahon has reportedly been trying to sign Lesnar to a new deal before his current one expires following WrestleMania 31 to avoid Lesnar playing the free-agent market with a rumored return to MMA with either the UFC or Bellator.

NXT wrestler Solomon Crowe frees driver from overturned car

Newcomer Solomon Crowe has fascinated the NXT Universe with his cryptic hacks, but outside the ring, the mysterious Superstar has revealed himself to be nothing short of a hero.

On Monday, the NXT Superstar tweeted that he had just aided a woman who was involved in a car accident in Orlando, Fla., not far from the WWE Performance Center.

Crowe, who had stopped in a nearby store after practice at the Performance Center, heard the crash and rushed to the scene of the accident with another onlooker. Together, they helped remove the driver from an overturned SUV, which reportedly jumped a curb and hit a tree before flipping.

"I didn't even think," said Crowe, who has received first aid training previously. "When I saw it, I was wearing sandals, and I just took off in a full sprint toward the car. I knew especially if a car's upside down like that, it can catch fire very easily, and whoever was in it, we wanted to get them out."

Despite not being able to see into the car, due to the airbags deploying, Crowe and his fellow upstanding citizen pried open the door, freed the driver and waited with her until paramedics and police arrived, at which point Crowe quietly left the scene. Later, a passerby tweeted a photo of the overturned car to Crowe.

Though Crowe's bravery and quick thinking were lauded on Twitter, NXT's resident hacker shrugged off the heroics.

"I would hope someone would do the same for me," he said. "That's how I think about it."

Stephanie responded:

"Thank you @WWEAJLee, I appreciate your opinion.  #UseYourVoice."

WWE move to defend themselves after wrongful death lawsuit

WWE have been forced to make a huge statement after the widow of Nelson Frazier Jr. (aka Mabel, Viscera, Big Daddy V) filed a lawsuit against the wrestling company.
In the lawsuit, Nelson Frazier Jr's widow claims that WWE are responsible for the death of her husband, arguing that the brain trauma and concussions he suffered during his time in WWE were responsible for his untimely death.
However, her lawsuit has clear holes in it, especially when you consider that Frazier died because of a heart attack, which could easily be attributed to the fact that he was morbidly obese.

Safe to say, Vince McMahon and the WWE are not happy about this situation, with The Wrestling Observer reporting that WWE will "vigorously" contest any lawsuit that is issued against them.
"WWE has not been served with a lawsuit by Cassandra Frazier.  If served, we will vigorously contest this lawsuit brought by the same lawyers who have been soliciting people to sue WWE without merit," Dave Meltzer reported, according to cagesidedseats.com.

ROH results from 2/21 in Norcross, GA

Georgia has seen its best wrestling show for 2015...unless ROH tops it when they come back in August.

I have had the pleasure of seeing Ring of Honor live a half dozen times now. Their show last night at the North Atlanta Trade Center was easily the best of them. For athleticism,  technical skill, and balls-to-the-wall effort, I have never seen a better pro wrestling show, bar none. If you missed it, buy the DVD or VOD. You won't be sorry.

Attendance was 1000-1200, standing room only. A rabid crowd all night long. Virtually every performer, heel or face, was showered with appreciation. The question of having an audience for ROH in Atlanta was answered beyond a shadow of a doubt. I can't imagine why anyone that attended this show wouldn't be coming back for more in 6 months. My only complaint was the lack of elevated seating left much of the crowd with poor sightlines to the ring. The show was held in a different space inside the venue than the one Ron Gossett used for his ill-fated UCW television taping.
