Lawler set to return soon

Jerry "The King" Lawler, who suffered a heart attack while announcing at a WWE event in Montreal Sept. 10, made his first public appearance on Friday at an independent wrestling show that took place at the Mid-South Fair in South Haven, Mississippi.

Before his heart attack, Lawler, 62, was scheduled to wrestle in two matches. Instead, he met fans and served as a ringside commentator.

Speaking to Action News 5 is Memphis, Tennessee, Lawler said WWE head Vince McMahon assured him to take as much time off as he needs. Lawler, however, is targeting November for his full-time return to the squared circle and broadcast booth. He originally wanted to return to the ring and booth this month, but McMahon felt it was "too soon."

Before making his full-time return, Lawler will appear at the October 16 SmackDown taping in Memphis, Tennessee.

BREAKING NEWS! Kelly Kelly released from World Wrestling Entertainment

WWE has announced the release
of Kelly Kelly today
via its official website.

Here is their full statement:
"WWE has come to terms
on the release of Kely Kelly
as of today, September 28th, 2012.
WWE wishes Kelly Kelly the best
in all her future endeavors".

Kelly,
real name Barbara Blank,
had been on a hiatus
from the company
after taking time off earlier this year.
Though she briefly returned
for a tour of Japan
and a couple of episodes of Raw
in late July to early August,
there has been no word
on a full-time return for the Diva.

During her time off,
Kelly had been pursuing opportunities
outside of WWE auspices
such as club appearances,
her own calendar and more.
WWE generally controls
its talents’ outside bookings,
but Kelly had been fielding offers
 through her own agent.

Kelly joined WWE
at the tender age of 18
and was immediately thrust onto television
on the ECW brand
as an "exhibitionist".
The Diva eventually became
an in-ring talent
and in 2011,
she won her first and only
Divas Championship.

Earlier this year
she competed at WrestleMania
along with Eve Torres, Beth Phoenix
and Maria Menounos.

Her last WWE appearance
was on the August 6th episode
of Raw.

A story never told

This has absolutely nothing to do with pro wrestling. I rarely publish anything here that is not wrestling related, but I think it is worth passing on.

A chaplain, who happened to be assigned to the Pentagon, told of an incident that happened right after Flight 77 hit the Pentagon on 9/11. A daycare facility inside the Pentagon had many children, including infants who were in heavy cribs. The daycare supervisor, looking at all the children they needed to evacuate, was in a panic over what they could do. There were many children, mostly toddlers, as well as the infants that would need to be taken out with the cribs. There was no time to try to bundle them into carriers and strollers.

Just then a young Marine came running into the center and asked what they needed. After hearing what the center director was trying to do, he ran back out into the hallway and disappeared. The director thought, "Well, here we are, on our own." About 2 minutes later, that Marine returned with 40 other Marines in tow. Each of them grabbed a crib with a child, and the rest started gathering up toddlers. The director and her staff then helped them take all the children out of the center and down toward the park near the Potomac and the Pentagon.

Once they got about 3/4 of a mile outside the building, the Marines stopped in the park, and then did a fabulous thing - they formed a circle with the cribs, which were quite sturdy and heavy, like the covered wagons in the Old West. Inside this circle of cribs, they put the toddlers, to keep them from wandering off. Outside this circle were the 40 Marines, forming a perimeter around the children and waiting for instructions. There they remained until the parents could be notified and come get their children.

The chaplain then said, "I don't think any of us saw nor heard of this on any of the news stories of the day. It was an incredible story of our men there. There wasn't a dry eye in the room. The thought of those Marines and what they did and how fast they reacted; could we expect any less from them? It was one of the most touching stories from the Pentagon.

It's the Military, not the politicians that ensures our right to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. It's the Military who salutes the flag, who serves beneath the flag, and whose coffin is draped by the flag.

If you care to offer the smallest token of recognition and appreciation for the military, please pass this on and pray for our men and women, who have served and are currently serving our country, and pray for those who have given the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom!

WWE developmental diva enters rehab

RingbellesOnline.com reports Thursday that Natalie Osman (a/k/a Buggy Nova), who signed a WWE developmental contract a few months ago, checked into a rehabilitation center to resolve a substance-related dependency matter. This would explain her profile being removed from the official NXT website last month and her absence from social media and NXT events in recent weeks. Her status with rehabilitation and WWE remains unclear. Osman performed as Skyler Moon at NXT events in July and August.

Wrestler Arrested for hitting fan

A professional wrestler was arrested in Carmi on Wednesday night after he lost his cool and allegedly struck a fan at a wrestling event at the Carmi VFW. The Carmi Police Department reports that when Officers arrived on the scene they spoke to the Post Commander, 44 year old Braden Willis of Carmi, and witnesses outside the building. Commander Willis said that the wrestler, 30 year old Adam W Gooch of Henderson, KY, was apart of a wrestling event at the post. Willis explained that Gooch had struck a fan in the head at the event. Witnesses stated that Gooch had ran up the street and jumped into a silver car, which was being driven by another male subject, and drove East across the Little Wabash River Bridge. Officers then went in pursuit of the vehicle and stopped the vehicle on Epworth Road near County Road 1100 North. Gooch was detained and transported back to Carmi. An ambulance was on scene at the VFW to treat the victim of the incident, 24 year old Nathan T Clark of Fairfield. According to the Police Report, Clark had a laceration to the left side of his head from the blow and had been bleeding considerably. EMT's believed that Clark would require several stitches to close the wound. A complaint for aggravated battery was signed before Clark headed to Fairfield Memorial Hospital. Gooch was arrested and charged with alleged aggravated battery. He was taken to the White County Jail where he is being held. Courtesy of WRUL 97.3
