Derrick King, Tracey Smothers and Jessie Belle Smothers and Athena were no-shows.
Pre-show matches..
"Boogie Woogie Man" Gary Valiant defeated L.T. Falk
Shane Williams defeated Jocephus w/Abriella via countout. Jocephus was chasing Williams around the ring and Williams rolled in just prior to the 10-count for the tainted win.
Main show begins.
Bill Dundee and Dutch Mantel do a deal where they say they don't have to wait until later in the night for their cage match.
They take about 15 minutes to put the cage up. The cage had grass all over it and appeared to have been in someone's yard. Nonetheless.
The steel cage match opened the main show. It may have been the worst steel cage match of all time between two wrestling legends.
Essentially, the cage was only used as a weapon on one occasion once the two got in and a couple as Dundee attacked Dutch as he was making his way down the aisle. Dundee and Dutch are two of the greatest wrestling minds in the world today and I believe TNA and WWE could benefit from having them on the creative team, but this match proved their time in the ring is either nearing completion or over.
Dutch won when he faked a medical condition and kicked Dundee in the melons.
Then, it took another 10 or so minutes to get the cage down. The Dundee-Dutch match might have lasted eight minutes.
Maria came out and did a Make-A-Wish promo with some local radio guy.
After the promo, Arrick Andrews entered the ring and apparently he has a history with the radio guy.
Cassidy Reilly came to the rescue and defeated Andrews. After the match, Andrews beat down the radio guy until Valiant made the save.
The Maddox Brothers defeated Drew Haskins/LT Falk. Falk was subbing for Derrick King and Haskins, who was the heel, introduced him as a tag partner that he'd had previous success with. Finish saw Haskins go for a chain and Falk object and cut ties with his partner.
Wolfie D. pinned Jamie Dundee in the "Battle of PG-13." I'd always hoped they would settle their difference with a rap war. Jamie did an outstanding job of throwing a fit after he lost. Wolfie looked good in the ring here.
Hammerjack defeated Raven in a "No Holds Barred" match. Raven started by trying to get the crowd to turn on him by telling them they'd treated Jamie Dundee badly in the last match and asking him back out. Dundee came and his top dentures popped out in the ring for a comedy spot.
The match itself was what you'd expect from a Raven bout. The step-toe hold into the chair and a little brawling outside the ring. After the match, Raven beat Hammerjack down, but didn't use the Raven Effect DDT.
Kid Kash defeated Jerry Lynn via DQ in what was easily the match of the night. Man, is Kash a heat magnet in Nashville. Finish saw a ref bump and Kash go out to get a chair, but the ref started to get up as he got in the ring. He threw the chair to Lynn and then dropped and sold as if he'd been smashed in the head. The ref turned around, saw Lynn holding the chair and DQ'ed him. The fans weren't happy about the finish. I saw a glass Bud Light bottle fly into the ring.
Too Cool (Grandmaster Sexay/Rikishi) w/ Maria defeated The Diamonds in the Rough (David Young/Sigmon) w/ Drew Haskins. A basic Too Cool match with comedy and their usual spots. Sigmon got the stink face and then Rikishi's butt splash for the pin. After the match, Haskins entered and hit on Maria, who slapped him and he ended up in the prone position. Rikishi teased another stinker, but Maria hiked up her skirt and said she had it.
Drew was elated after taking her stinkface and asked for another. Maria said she would, but he'd have to cover his eyes this time to fully enjoy it. Of course, he got a face full of Rikishi this time around.
After the match, Too Cool danced with Maria and a Make-A-Wish child.
It appeared that all the VIP tickets sold out and there were five rows of 20 on all four sides of the ring so I'd put the attendance at anywhere from 800-1,000.
