Jason Mattox Arrested For Charges Of Sexual Exploition Of A Minor

Jason Mattox was the announcer for All Pro Wrestling and worked at the Panolian newspaper in Batesville Mississippi.

A Mississppi man was arrested in West Tennessee yesterday and brought to Cookeville on charges of sexual exploitation of a minor.

Jason Mattox, 32, of E. McClaurin St., Sardis, Mississippi, was recently indicted by the Putnam County grand jury on four counts of exploitation of a minor by electronic means and three counts of solicitation of a minor.

That minor was actually an undercover Cookeville Police officer who was working the Internet posing as an underage girl. It is another in a series of cases resulting from ongoing investigations by Detective Sgt. Bobby Anderson and others.

In November, Detective Anderson presented evidence in the case to the grand jury, which issued the indictments.

Earlier this week, police here contacted authorities in Mississippi, who then picked up Jason Mattox and transported him to Brownsville, Tenn., where they had other unrelated business, and Detective Anderson and Detective Sgt. Tammy Goolsby traveled to Brownsville and returned the suspect to the Putnam County jail.

The indictments allege that on four different dates between October and November, Mattox broke the law by communicating via the Internet with someone he believed to be a girl under 18 and by sending sexually explicit material.

He is also accused of soliciting the minor for sex, asking her to "engage in conduct" that, if completed, would amount to aggravated statutory rape.

Mattox's bond was set at $10,000, and he is to be arraigned in Criminal Court on Jan. 24.
