On Sept. 4, 2010 in Sulphur Springs, Tx a young man's dreams were shattered. The young man in question, who has been a professional wrestler now for a little over 6 months, his only dream was to meet Jake" the snake" Roberts. As the ring was being put up and the crew was standing around talking, laughing and just having a great time, this young man kept talking about how excited he was to be on the card with Jake. He was quoting matches that Jake had over the years and the collection of tapes and DVD's that he had with Jake on them. So his hero was the one and only Jake Roberts.
Now when Jake came in everyone was showing him respect including this kid. Well this kid goes up to Jake and tells him that he has been working for a little over 6 months and it was an honor to be on the card with him. Jake laughed at him and started to call him Shirley. Just being a real jerk to this kid. Telling him he doesn't care how long he has been working. You could just see this kids dreams shattered. This was his hero telling him he doesn't care about him or anyone else for that matter. This is someone that doesn't care about fans or people in the business he is just one that wants to suck it dry for what he can get. This is someone I would never use on a card.
The morale of this is when you put someone on that pedestal and idolize them they do not live up to the hype.
