I went to Jerry Lawler’s Memphis Wrestling last night at the Delta Fair and Music Festival in Memphis. The crowd was loud and the action was jam packed from start to end. I heard a rumor that was going around ringside that the show airing this next Saturday would be the last Jerry Lawler’s Memphis Wrestling airing on Channel 50. I thought this couldn’t be true with the ratings going up and the show is better than the one they had on UPN 30 a few months ago.
I talked to Hollywood Jimmy after the show last night to confirm the story and he told me it’s true. He wouldn’t go into details the reason the show is going off the air but said there are a few problems and if a miracle doesn’t take place within a few days the show airing this Saturday will be the last Jerry Lawler’s Memphis Wrestling show.
I don’t understand why this is happening with the ratings going up and the wrestling is better than ever. They have a good crew with Brandon Baxter, Too Cruel Brian C and Wolfie D, Eric Wayne, Kid Nickels, Burt Prentiss, Tommy Mercer, Albino Rhino, Matt Boyce, Garry White, Kevin White, Boss Winters, Su Young, Jocephus, and Hollywood Jimmy bringing in monsters to beat up Jerry Lawler. The Tom Savini angle should have ended before the show ended. I was looking forward to seeing who he was going to bring in for Jerry Lawler and what was going to happen. Hope a miracle happens in a few days or this will be the last Jerry Lawler’s Memphis Wrestling airing this Saturday on Channel 50.
