TFW - Hood Street Cage Match participants speak out

Here are some comments from the participants in the Hood Street Cage match this Friday night at TFW:

First off, what were your thoughts on the 2008 Hood Street Cage Match?

“Southern Thunder” Chris Kilgore – “It was my toughest match of the year, close to the toughest in my career. Nothing short of a brutal shoot fight! There were different views, but all involved went out with one thing in common - making it one of the greatest matches in history!!!

“The Natural” Josh Matthews - “2008 hood street cage match was the most painful, match I've been in, not only physical pain but emotional pain for the loser. I, however, wasn't on the losing end, so idk about the emotional pain. That match came NATURAL.”

“The Future” Chris Styles – “Well it's one of the toughest matches i've ever been in and ever was a part of... And we didn’t disappoint the last time, an we sure won't this time.”

Dirty “Rell” Moe – “In 2008 I was lucky (or unlucky) to be a part of the match and my body is still feeling the effects!”

“Bad Attitude” Tony Dabbs – “The last Hood Street Cage Match was what I would call not something for the weak at heart, very brutal, bloody and emotional. This is something I would consider close to WWE's Elimination Chamber match on an independent level.... But one thing that was missing from the last one is ME, and for the record, I've never lost a cage match in my career!!!!!!”

“Real Deal” Neil Taylor – “The roughest, bloodiest match of 2008, hands down.”

Referee Chris P. Fries – “I was the ref of that match and it was one of the most brutal matches I have ever refereed. There was a lot of rage released in and out of the cage.”

“Tha Stunt” Curlymoe – “Several words come to mind about the 2008 Hood Street Cage Match (Brutal, Bloody, Painful, etc.) but 3 words in my mind describe the whole match: Non Stop Action!!! Everything that you wanted to see was in that match. JR said it best when he said “It’s not for the weak at heart.”

If you were a fan watching the match, or if you heard about it, what would be your thoughts about it period?

Dirty Rell Moe - This is definately one of the sickest matches you will ever see! It for someone that is brave and that really hates their opponent to be a part of this match! This year I will do what I do best and just manage my team to victory; but be aware, cause my name ain't Da Dirty One for nothing!

“Natural” Josh Matthews - it's enduring, painful, breath taking, etc. If it's bad this match has it. This is the kind of match that doesn't just end careers it ends lives. Destroys your body. It's a very innovative match but also very scary.

Neil “Real Deal” Taylor - Very violent, a lot like War Games was in the '80s.

“Tha Stunt” Curlymoe – As co-creator of the match, I would like to say that it was even more than I pictured it to be. Amazing!! Cage match, Street Fight Rules, War Games... My Goodness!! I think it’s at the same calibur as the Hell in the Cell and Elimination Chamber. Put it like this, If you got a group of people that needs to settle a score, this would definitely do it, but be careful. Your body will go thru a lot. It will never be the same again!!

Referree Chris P. Fries - It is one of the most unique types of match that ever came out of TFW, and nothing has come close to it since. It is something you don't see every day. If you beat them up outside the cage then you have to fight to get them back in to do the pin or submission, which is harder then you think!

“The Future” Chris Styles - All in all the Match Is SICK..... This year we added the war game rule to it - sounds like another winner to me. You don’t want to miss it

“Southern Thunder” Chris Kilgore – “Let me put it to you like this, I would buy a ticket! I wouldn’t want to miss this! I would even wanna be at ringside!! The whole setup was great! If you miss this, you will miss one of the greatest matches ever!!
