Last Saturday Night was a truly special night. We had over 150 paying fans, and raised over $1200 to get Commissioner George Ray the proper headstone for his final resting place.
In the Opening Match
A Grudge Match
Tony Grande Defeated David Towe via: Pin fall
David wasted no time attacking Tony's already injured knee. Tony fought back valiantly and ended up hitting a big DDT and getting the 1...2...3.
Russian Dog Collar Match
Steve Slaughter Defeated Desperado
This was a brawl from the opening bell to the end bell. These two heavyweight veterans brought an old school battle to this exciting crowd. It was Steve Slaughter who was able to get all four corners and have his hand raised in the end...
Last Man Standing
Matt Korbaine Defeated American Psycho
This has been a match in the making for over 9 years. These two have met in tag matches and even a couple of four corners matches but never one on one in this type of big match moment. They laid it all on the line, and in what some are calling the best match the S.W.A. has seen, Matt Korbaine was able to keep American Psycho down for the ten count. American Psycho had said if he couldn't beat Matt Korbaine he wouldn't wrestle in the S.W.A. we will see what happens when the S.W.A. returns 3/13/2010 to the Lafayette National Guard Armory.
U.S. Championship
Champion Loose Cannon Defeated Challenger Shane Steel
Loose Cannon made good on his promise to hold on to his United States championship, but not without a fight from the challenger Shane Steel. Shane put up one hell of a fight and the match could have easily gone the other way. Loose Cannon has been on a hot streak lately and it will be interesting to see if we've seen the last of Shane Steel going after that U.S. Title.

Ladder Match
S.W.A. Heavyweight Championship
Challenger Jay Ruthless Defeated Champion Tin Man Tim Scruggs
No one thought that Jay Ruthless stood a chance against the Tin Man Tim Scruggs, let alone win the S.W.A. Heavyweight Championship, but everyone ended up being wrong. American Psycho ran out to the aid of the Tin Man after Jay looked to have the upper hand, Psycho handed Tim some powder and Tim threw it in Jays eyes. As Psycho was having a chat with the referee Jay trying to get his barrings hit Psycho and bounced off the ropes colliding with the ladder, with Tin on top with the belt in hand. Tim dropped the belt and Jay ended up with it, the ref turned to see Jay had the belt and declared him the winner. Tim instead of being mad or taking the low road, congratulated the new champion in a great showing of sportsmanship.

Steel Cage
S.W.A. Tag Team Championship
Rock Head Ray Spears & The Beast
Defeated
Brimstone & Black Thorn
This match definitely didn't disappoint, and you just had to be there to see this battle of the big men. These 2 teams went back and forth for thirty minutes, until the team of Rock Head and the Beast got the upper hand and the win. After the win these two had enough with Brimstone's and Black Thorns manager and thought it was time to teach him a lesson, after a big double choke slam the new Tag Team champs celebrated with all the boys from the locker room and the fans....
It was truly a special night, and everyone knew that the S.W.A.'s fallen comrades were there in full support...
The S.W.A. returns to Lafayette on March 13th, 2010 with the bell time of 8 and doors opening at 7:30 at the Lafayette National Guard Armory.

I was just looking to see if I could find old friends on here from the days when I was a wrestlers wife. I took the chance in typing in Tim Scruggs name and was pleasantly surprised to find that something pulled up. I am saddened to learn that Baby Ray died. I have lost all contact with the wrestlers that once meant so much to me. Would love to hear from these men, or their wives. You can reach me at sonja.summers@yahoo.com or on facebook. Hope to hear from someone soon............ Sonja M. Summers
