As noted earlier, former ECW performer Axl Rotten reportedly canceled an appearance at a Baltimore wrestling event in order to enter a drug rehabilitation facility for substance abuse addiction. WWE is footing the bill as part of their program to do so for any wrestler who was ever under contract. The hardcore wrestler was briefly under contract to the organization upon the relaunch of Extreme Championship Wrestling in 2006, but released before ever appearing on television.
