News from GCW in Phenix City, AL

Erik Watts has been rehired by Great Championship Wrestling as their new Chief of Wrestling Operations. An announcement on the GCW website states that owner Diane Hewes made the move yesterday.

Watts, 41, was the promotion's top babyface during their heyday in Columbus. He is a two time GCW Heavyweight Champion and also held the GCW Tag Team Championship with John Bogie.

Watts had a run as booker for GCW, which ended in an acrimonious split with the company in April 2006.

Great Championship Wrestling results for October 29 in Phenix City, Al at the
Gr8 Sk8 Plex. Tex Monroe defeated Kyle Matthews; Murder-One was pinned by his mystery opponent, the returning David Young; Mike Kross retained the GCW Interstate Title over Cru Jones (dressed as Shaun Banks) and Shaun Banks (dressed as Jones); J-Rod & Frankie Valentine beat Bull Buchanan & Chris Stevens to retain the GCW Tag Team Titles; Swinger beat Jimmy Rave to retain the GCW Heavyweight Title.
