On Saturday,October 10th at the Pell City Civic Center in Pell City,AL,
















GLOBAL CHAMPIONSHIP WRESTLING
(GCW)




















had their wrestling show called:
"SOUTHERN LEGENNDS FAN FEST".





















From 10:00 AM until 2:00 PM GCW had a Wrestling Seminar with "The Midnight Express" "Beautiful" Bobby Eaton & "Loverboy" Dennis Condrey along with GCW wrestler "Mad Dog" Dan Sawyer (no relation to the late,great Buzz Sawyer).

They charged $150 a person to attend the seminar with the 2 best students being able to wrestle on the show that night,
unto that which those said 2 wrestlers qualified to wrestle in a 6 man tag team encounter.
More about them and that match a little bit later on.....

There was a Meet & Greet Fan Fest that started from 3:00 PM until 6:00 PM where all the wrestling had to do was pay for their tickets for the wrestling show in order to get in which by the way the GCW wrestling event started at 7:00 PM.

When the doors opened at 3:00 PM for the Meet & Greet Fan Fest,it featured some of the wrestling superstars from the Southeastern/Continental Championship Wrestling era.

The wrestling legends that were in person were......

DENNIS CONDREY

"Beautiful"

Former WWE/WCW superstar

"The Bullet"

9-time Alabama Junior Heavyweight Champion

Even though he showed up at the GCW fan fest about an hour to an hour and a half before belltime,
but however thankfully made it there nonetheless
was
"Gorgeous"
JIMMY GOLDEN.




















Sadly and unfortunately to many wrestling fans,
one of the legends whom that was scheduled to be there but was unable to attend was former NWA World Heavyweight Champion
"Wildfire"
TOMMY RICH.







































Many wrestling fans both feared and believed that Tommy Rich completely no-showed the GCW event altogether.....
considering the fact that he was booked by GCW.....
through an unknown,unnamed third party.....
to come to this event.




















However from information that I had ascertained that evening from the Commissioner of Global Championship Wrestling Eddie Layne,




















he told me both personally and directly that Tommy Rich recently suffered a bad hip injury which prevented him from being at the GCW "Southern Legends Fan Fest".

At most wrestling fan fests,normally you would have to pay for autographs & pay to take pictures with wrestlers and wrestling personalities.
But at the GCW "Southern Legends Fan Fest" in Pell City,AL,
wrestlers were signing ANYTHING that was put in front of them;
not to mention selling their own pictures & merchandise.
In fact,The Assassin/The Flame,Nick Patrick,Mike Jackson and the Armstrongs would take pictures along with fans.....FOR FREE.

From information that I had ascertained from a couple of wrestling fans,
the only person they was really charging for anything was Austin Idol.
During the GCW Fan Fest and during one of the show's intermissions,
he charged wrestling fans in order for them to get a picture with him......
WITH THE EXCEPTION OF ME OF COURSE.....
LOL!!!


















Nonetheless all in all,
each of the wrestling legends were both very personable and very approachable as well.


Two of the very beautiful divas from Global Championship Wrestling were there on hand to sell their merchandise as well as signing autographs and taking pictures with the GCW fans;
those being
"The Voluptuous Vixen"
VERONICA FAIRCHILD




















and her sister
GEORGIA MAE.






































Fairchild was also accepting donations that night for one of her dearest friends,
wrestling personality
BERT PRENTICE.




















Prentice is currently battling colon cancer and though the treatments are helping.....
he's still having a tough time working and thus an even tougher time paying bills as well as medical/day-to-day living expenses.

Prentice runs the Tennessee based wrestling promotion USA Championship Wrestling and at one time hosted NWA-TNA's Xplosion Television program along with Jeremy Borash.




















Back in the day under the name 'Christopher Love',
Prentice had managed the likes of Tully Blanchard
and the late
"Hot Stuff" Eddie Gilbert
(pictured below).






















Veronica Fairchild along with several other wrestling personalities from all across the country is a part of the "Friends Of Bert" program and they are asking all of you out there for your help.

via 1-2-3 pinfall as Garza rolled up Valentine in a small package after when Valentine;
whom had worked extensively throughout most of the match on the left leg of Garza, had Garza in a spinning toe hold attempting to apply a figure four leglock.



















MATCH #2:

ALBEIT DUE TO ILLEGAL MEANS.....
as Night Prowler caught Humongous from behind and rolled him up.....
as well as grabbing a handful of his tights.....
to get the tawdry 1-2-3 victory.

In a 6 Man Tag Team Match,

and the 2 men who qualified and who were granted a spot to wrestle at the GCW show from participating at the Midnight Express/Mad Dog Wrestling Camp Seminar earlier in the day,

via 1-2-3 pinfall as Chief Thunder Horse finished off Ace Haven with a tomahawk chop to the top of his head
















and pinning him for the 1-2-3 victory for his team.

It was a one-on-one match between
"The Wrestling Hybrid"
ORION BISHOP




















versus
"The Mystic From San Monique"

with his manager
"The Legal Eagle"
HOWARD C. CROSS
at ringside.





















Prior to the match,Orion Bishop wanted for his father Phillip "Stonewall" Bishop to be at ringside to watch his match.




















But,Howard C. Cross came down towards the ringside area and protested due to the fact that Phillip Bishop did not have an actual Manager's License
















and therefore demanded that GCW Commissioner Eddie Layne banishes him from the ringside area,
unto that which he had no other choice but to do so.


















The match then soon commenced.
However during the match,GCW Commissioner Eddie Layne came back and granted a temporary Manager's License to Phillip "Stonewall" Bishop for him to be in the corner of his son,Orion Bishop.
















In the closing moments of the match,Muddbone attempted to burn Orion Bishop by hurling a fireball at him,but he lit it up prematurely.
















When Orion Bishop turned around,he finished off Muddbone with a running spear and pinned him for the 1-2-3 victory.

After the match,Muddbone put his hands on Howard C. Cross blaming him for losing the match
















and he dragged him violently across the ringside area and then throwing him down to the ground.
It appears that the business partnership between the both of men may have totally dissolved.


















MATCH #6:
There was a one-on-one match for the GCW Heavyweight Championship between
the GCW Heavyweight Champion
SGT. HAMMER
with his manager
"The Legal Eagle"
HOWARD C. CROSS
at ringside.
















versus the challenger
THE InHUMAN FLY.

















A stipulation was added to this match by GCW Commissioner Eddie Layne whereas
Howard C. Cross had to be handcuffed at ringside next to
"Mad Dog" Dan Sawyer.
















During the closing moments of the match,it appeared that a new GCW Heavyweight Champion was about to be crowned as The InHuman Fly planted Sgt. Hammer face first with an inverted double underhook reverse facebuster.

















As The InHuman Fly covered and hooked the leg of Sgt. Hammer for the apparent victory,
as referee Nick Patrick was about to make the offical 3 count,
it seemed that either his left shoulder or his left rotator cuff flared up again;
a bad case of that old 1997 "nWo-itis".
















The InHuman Fly was shocked and outraged to learn that Nick Patrick stopped his 3 count.
It was all because Nick Patrick took a bribe and he was paid off by Howard C. Cross prior to the match taking place to swerve The InHuman Fly.
















All of a sudden,Howard C. Cross' team,
the GCW World Tag Team Champions
"The Money Makers (J.P. Magnum and Theodore Tutwiler III)" ran down to ringside, brutally attacking "Mad Dog" Dan Sawyer from behind and had a set of keys to remove the handcuffed Howard C. Cross to set him free.
















Then Howard C. Cross went into the ring and then he rammed his Haliburton briefcase into the mid-section of The InHuman Fly.
















This gave the opportunistic Sgt. Hammer to finish off The InHuman Fly with a spike piledriver




















pinning him for the tainted 1-2-3 victory
















to retain the GCW Heavyweight Championship.

MATCH #7:
In the semi main event,it was a one-on-one match
between
"Gorgeous"
JIMMY GOLDEN
a.k.a.
former WCW superstar
Bunkhouse Buck





















versus
DYNAMO.
















During the closing moments of the match,"Gorgeous" Jimmy Golden was being pummeled in the corner by several repeated hard right handed fists at the hands of Dynamo.




















The referee backed Dynamo out from the corner where Jimmy Golden reached into his trunks and pulled out an illegal object placing it on his right hand.
















Jimmy Golden used that illegal object to KO Dynamo unbeknowst to the referee's view
















and then he covered the unconscious Dynamo for the tawdry 1-2-3 pin.

BUT......

"The Universal Heart Throb" Austin Idol made his way down to ringside and he told the referee that he saw Jimmy Golden KOing Dynamo with an illegal object to get the cheap 1-2-3 win.




















Thus,the referee reversed his decision and he awarded the match to Dynamo!!!
















MATCH #8:
In the main event Triple Threat Tag Team Match for the GCW World Tag Team Championship,
new GCW World Tag Team Champions were crowned
as the team of
STEVE ARMSTRONG
and
"The Bullet"
BOB ARMSTRONG




















defeated the former champions
"The Money Makers"
J.P. MAGNUM




















and
THEODORE TUTWILER III




















with
"The Outlaw"
RASTUS T. POLK
at ringside




















who was substituting for their manager Howard C. Cross who was brutally attacked and beaten at the hands of The InHuman Fly and "Mad Dog" Dan Sawyer following the GCW Heavyweight Championship match between Sgt. Hammer and The InHuman Fly

and
"The Midnight Express"
"Loverboy"
DENNIS CONDREY
and
"Beautiful"
BOBBY EATON
















via 1-2-3 pinfall as when all 3 teams were in the ring simultaneously involved in a wild melee of a fracas,
Rastus T. Polk threw Howard C. Cross' Haliburton briefcase into the ring so that J.P. Magnum could use it.
Instead,Steve Armstrong blocked the oncoming briefcase shot by Magnum and Armstrong KOd Magnum with it unbeknowst to the referee's view.
















Magnum's partner Theodore Tutwiler III;who was knocked unconscious during the wild fracas,was covered and pinned for the 1-2-3 by Steve Armstrong.
















The father/son combination of
"The Bullet" Bob Armstrong




















and Steve Armstrong
became the new GCW World Tag Team Champions.
