The Miami Herald has an interview up with new TNA Knockout Lacey Von Erich of The Beautiful People who made her debut during last night's Impact. Here are some of the highlights.
On the difference between TNA and WWE:
"TNA is completely different than WWE. The atmosphere and the people are different. I think it's really competitive in WWE where there is one blonde and then another blonde. There is just so much cattiness, and rumors fly. Candice Michelle told me that. She just got out. A couple of the girls who got out of WWE were telling me that. So I was going into TNA thinking there was going to be so much drama, and it was going to be terrible."
On her experience at the TNA TV tapings recently:
"I get there, and they are the most incredible girls ever. We go have beers after the shows. ODB is awesome. I already knew Awesome Kong who is amazing. I also feel you get to shine. They want you to wrestle good there. It's not that WWE doesn't want you to wrestle well, but you don't feel like you can wrestle to your potential. In TNA, they want you to do your maximum potential."
On replacing Angelina Love (and appearing to be in character):
"I feel like it was made for me, and she [Angelina] wasn't a good fit for it in my opinion. I thought that everybody was going to be, `Oh no. Angelina is gone,' but not one person said that. Nobody really missed her that much. I feel like I can fill the shoes that I'm supposed to. TNA told me this role was made for me, and I feel the same way. So when I met the other members, Velvet and Madison, they are awesome. . . When I got there, we all just felt like we were one group, and the band was completed. . .I've never met Angelina before in my life. After what some people have said, I don't know if I want to. I just feel like we can all be a group together and shine together, so I'm excited about that."
UPDATE
Some negative comments made by new TNA Knockout Lacey Von Erich about former Knockout Angelina Love in an interview with The Miami Herald did not sit well with some TNA officials. Prowrestling.net is reporting that Von Erich was ordered by the TNA office to contact Love and apologize for the comments she made in the interview.
We reported on these comments earlier today and at the time the impression we got was that she was going in character when talking about Love. Von Erich said, "[Angelina] wasn't a good fit for it in my opinion. I thought that everybody was going to be, `Oh no. Angelina is gone,' but not one person said that. Nobody really missed her that much. I feel like I can fill the shoes that I'm supposed to. TNA told me this role was made for me, and I feel the same way. I've never met Angelina before in my life. After what some people have said, I don't know if I want to."
This same report by Jason Powell is also indicating that Von Erich didn't make a very good first impression at the TNA Impact TV tapings two weeks ago in Orlando, FL and further upset some TNA officials with her negative comments towards Angelina Love. Von Erich debuted on last night's Impact joining up The Beautiful People group with Velvet Sky and Madison Rayne, effectively replacing Angelina Love. Others in the wrestling media have noted that while Love herself wasn't very popular backstage either, the general feeling was that the comments made by Von Erich were not needed and not necessary especially considering that she just debuted for the company. You can see her TNA debut from last night's Impact below.

UPDATE:
In the latest twist in the Lacey Von Erich/Angelina Love controversy, the TNA newcomer is apparently backpedaling on some comments she made regarding the founding member of "The Beautiful People" in an interview published today in the Miami Herald. Von Erich has taken the situation to Twitter, writing the following on her Twitter account:
"I hope everyone enjoyed the show last night! Angelina Love was amazing in the beautiful people and I hope I do it justice! P.S. Don't believe rumors! I think Angelina will be missed in TNA and hope we can work together someday!"
It is unclear how her comments regarding Love can be considered "RUMORS" considering they were direct quotes from her for an article in a respected newspaper. If she is to be believed, the quotes made about Love were fabricated by the author of the Miami Herald article, Scott Fishman. Scott has been a very credible journalist in the past. Although it should be noted that there are several other quotes from Von Erich in the piece which definitely don't appear to be fabricated.
