Earlier this afternoon WNC had read that Derrick King had been arrested in Brownsville, TN. After hours of trying to get information on this story, we were told twice that he had in fact been arrested. The second phone call to the Haywood County Jail located in Brownsville, was not that great. I asked for documentation showing where he had been booked in and a mugshot. According to FOI (Freedom Of Information) Laws, they are required to share and/or send that information to the requesting person. However, myself and RRONews.com's Brian Tramel ran in to the same problem, they would not share the information. But a break finally came when I asked another female Detention Officer if the subject in question fit King's description to which she replied no and stated that this person was not Derrick King. WNC has retracted the story posted earlier and apologize to you the readers and Derrick King for this unfortunate lack of information.
