The Latest on Hulk & Linda - The Nonsense Continues

Hulk Hogan was a guest on Bubba the Love Sponge's Sirius satellite radio show this morning and said that Linda younger-than-Brooke boyfriend is causing him all sorts of trouble. Hulk claims that Charley, who was spotted this weekend with Linda in Palm Springs, has been driving Hulk's uninsured motorcycle, going through Nick's stuff and being the cause for Linda to call the cops on him. TMZ.com has posted an audio clip of Hulk Hogan on Bubba, which you can listen to at their website.

One Man's Opinion About WWE Moving Jim Ross to Smackdown

The following report was posted by Ryan Clark on wrestlinginc.com:
.
According to a new report, the decision to move Jim Ross to the Smackdown brand announce team and move Michael Cole over to Raw was more so done to humiliate Ross and was hardly considered a "business move" backstage. Several WWE sources backstage have indicated that Vince McMahon getting to humiliate Ross on live TV was amusing to him since Ross made it very clear that he didn't want to move brands.
.
Ross currently has around a year and a half left on his current WWE contract and the move to Smackdown made him very upset, so much so that he was considering quitting that night and passed on an opportunity to fly on the WWE corporate jet to the Smackdown tapings last Tuesday in Houston. Ross also issued an emotional blog on his website and later apologized with a new one later that day.
.
It's no secret that it has been a running joke within WWE with McMahon taking Ross off Raw as it has been done dozens of times before. Usually the way things operate is that the move is looked at as permanent and then McMahon gets frustrated and ultimately brings him back. Of course, there is a line backstage within WWE that they have always been about "youth" and "pretty faces" and with Jerry Lawler at 58 and Ross at 56, many see it as easier to blame the ages of the announcers on the product being stale instead of bad decisions made such as problems in developmental or cutting off rising stars and instead blaming the announcers for not getting them over to the audience.
.
It is also reportedly already being joked about backstage how long it will take McMahon to change his mind and bring Ross back to Raw when ratings drop again. The running joke is that every time McMahon decides to pull Ross from Raw, the only two people who actually believe the move will last a long time is McMahon and Ross when most know it will never stay that way long. It should be noted that the recent Mike Adamle hire was done to have Adamle eventually replace Ross, but as many have seen that has turned into a disaster. Other talk last year had Michael Cole calling both Raw and Smackdown and phasing out Ross after his Hall of Fame speech in 2007. Any talk of Cole taking over for Ross was halted in Chicago when Ross was announced for the Hall of Fame and the reaction was huge, stunning many people within WWE.
As reported on earlier, none of the announcers were told ahead of time if they would be drafted and were anticipating the announcement just like the live audience was. A few former WWE staff members have stated recently that Ross should have understood how Vince McMahon's mind works and that by Ross publicly stating he wanted to stay on Raw it would almost become a guarantee that he would be moved because of how McMahon likes to humiliate him. One issue Ross spoke about himself in moving to Smackdown is going from the "live" to "taped" environment. As it has been done for quite some time, announcers for Smackdown call the show live at the tapings on Tuesday and then head to Stamford, CT at WWE Headquarters on Wednesday to clean up any errors. So with Ross living in Oklahoma City, having an extra day on the road will make his schedule even busier. Ross did state on his website however that he would not go to Stamford to do this.
.
It should be noted that there is always the issue with Ross and Mike Adamle both being believed to be making the same amount of money (roughly around $300,000 per year - although I'm sure Ross will either dispute or refuse to comment on this number if he reads this report), despite the fact that Ross has been announcing since the late 1970s and has been regarded as the best in the business for more than two decades. Adamle coming from a "real sports" background and with a time as an NFL announcer for NBC, it was going to take a good amount of money to get him to work in pro wrestling, while Ross gladly works in the business with no issues at all. However, many feel this recent move by WWE had little if anything to do with Smackdown moving to MyNetwork TV later this year and needed more star power along with a solid announcing team. Many see Ross moving to Smackdown as a demotion no matter how it is spun after having a long role as the lead announcer for the company's flagship program on Monday night's.

Also letting them know that the RWA is putting on the wrestling at the “4th in the Forest” in Jonesboro and ran down the card for the show. However as it is becoming a habit the Rat Pack interrupted the mic spill. Classy Melton Massy came out and thanked his guy's for putting out Ali Stevens and other RWA superstars.
.
Once again the team of “Insane” Zane Richards and Chris Steel came out a man short for the 6 man tag against the Leprechauns and JD Carey. So Martin appointed PP3 to be their tag partner. Official WWE Raw Preview

Slight of champions?

From WWE.com:

After Night of Champions, where Raw Superstars suffered three prominent losses, the Monday night brand is left with no World Championship. Perhaps more important, though, is the fact that WWE is currently without its Chairman.

During last week's Draft, WWE Champion Triple H was randomly selected to SmackDown, taking his title with him. On Sunday night, John Cena had a chance to bring the title back to Raw, but was unable to defeat The Game. Similarly, Batista attempted to win Edge's World Heavyweight Championship, but couldn't come out on top against the Master Manipulator.

The one World Title that Raw did hold going into Night of Champions was Kane's ECW Championship, but in a Triple Threat Match against Mark Henry and Big Show, the Big Red Machine lost the gold to the World's Strongest Man, who will take the championship back to Tuesday nights with him. With Cena, Batista and Kane all unable to win or hold onto gold, where will these three competitors set their focus next?

Another Raw Superstar that suffered a devastating loss at Night of Champions was Chris Jericho, defending his title against surprise opponent, Kofi Kingston. Y2J and the capacity crowd in Dallas were shocked as the Jamaican Superstar made a huge splash in his first match since joining the Raw roster. Another surprise entrance was made by Shawn Michaels, who was unable to compete due to an eye injury. HBK distracted Jericho long enough for Kingston to take control of the match, pinning Y2J. Following the match, Y2J took brutal revenge against HBK, assaulting him outside the ring. With the Intercontinental Championship acting as Raw's main singles title, will Kingston and his unorthodox style be able to hang onto the championship? And what is in store for Chris Jericho when HBK returns to in-ring competition?

One of Night of Champions' biggest surprises came during the World Tag Team Championship Match. For weeks, Ted DiBiase had promised to win the gold from champions Hardcore Holly & Cody Rhodes, along with the help of his mystery partner. On Sunday, the mystery partner was revealed to be Rhodes, who turned on Holly, and helped DiBiase make good on his promise to win a championship in his first WWE match. Why would Rhodes turn against his partner and mentor, and what steps will Hardcore Holly take to get revenge?

While multiple championships changed hands Sunday night, Mr. McMahon's condition was still unknown following a bizarre accident last week on Raw. At the end of the evening, the stage on which the WWE Chairman stood on collapsed, followed by a ton of lighting equipment crashing down on him, incapacitating Mr. McMahon and causing Million Dollar Mania to be indefinitely suspended. When the McMahon family gives a statement this Monday on Raw, what will we learn about the Chairman's condition, and how will the landscape of sports-entertainment be affected in Mr. McMahon's absence?

Why Maria Was Moved to Smackdown

Here's one man's opinion of why the move was made by WWE:
.
Maria was moved over to SmackDown to help balance things out. She wasn't really needed long-term on Raw anymore due to a potential surplus of babyfaces. SmackDown has three heels in Maryse, Natalya and Victoria, but only two wrestling babyfaces in Cherry and Michelle McCool. Considering that ECW is set to merge with Raw, Kelly Kelly will soon be a part of the Monday night crew, which would leave one less babyface for SmackDown shows. Also, WWE is somewhat limited in what they can do with Cherry, and Eve Torres isn't wrestling quite yet, hence the addition of Maria to SmackDown because they really do need her. On Raw, Candice Michelle is set to come back soon and Melina is now a babyface (her sudden injury kind of puts a wrench in things, but WWE is going through with their original plan to move Maria anyway). They also have Ashley, but her status in WWE remains unclear. It looks like Mickie will be on her own for a few weeks unless Ashley suddenly returns, but with the eventual returns of Candice, Melina & probably Ashley, plus the addition of Kelly to the Monday night crew in September, Maria wasn't really needed anymore.

Booker T Comments on Michael Hayes Situation in WWE

Booker T recently commented on the Michael Hayes/WWE situation. Here is a quote: "Michael always thought he was black. He was always saying black things in a black way. I think that whatever happened up there was taken out of context and has been blown way out of proportion."

Chikara News

CHIKARA: Young Lions Cup on the line at July 13th's "Tragedy & Triumph!"
.
The month of July is unique on the CHIKARA calendar! We're offering up just one giant, star-studded card, on Sunday afternoon, July 13th, at our homebase of the New Alhambra in Philadelphia. This one will be a card on par with our very finest stand-alone events, and every loyal member of the CHIKARMY will want to be on hand when "Tragedy and Triumph" plays in South Philly!
.
On that night, the "Fabulous Two" of Mitch Ryder and Shayne Hawke have a date with destiny, as they cash in their three points for a title shot against our reigning campeones/champions "Incoherence" (Hallowicked & Delirious)! The "Fabulous Two" picked up their final point in Wallingford, CT over El Pantera & Lince Dorado, and while they may not have gotten the better of the champs back at King of Trios, this 2-out-of-3 falls match at "Tragedy and Triumph" will have a decidedly different dynamic.
.
Plus, Eddie Kingston will have a chance to avenge his loss in the main event of our biggest show ever - King of Trios, Night 3 - where he was tapped out by Lince Dorado. CHIKARA's most brutal wrestler will take on the high-flying Latino prodigy in their very first one-on-one match!
.
In addition to which, the Young Lions Cup, won by Fire Ant in an emotional tournament final back on June 15th, will find himself rematched with Vin Gerard. Since losing the tournament final, Gerard has been lobbying for another stab at Fire Ant, and to silence him, Director of Fun Leonard F. Chikarason has signed this bout. If the match is even half as intense as their last meeting in Hellertown, we'll be in for a charged evening at the New Alhambra!
.
There will be a total of 9 bouts that make up the card, here are the first seven we have to confirm:
.
~Main Event: For the Campeonatos de Parejas!~
Incoherence (campeones) vs. The Fabulous Two (retadores)

~Young Lions Cup on the Line!~

Bobwyre & Squash Mountain def. Beau James & Wayne Adkins by disqualification as Spur ruled that Beau & Wayne refused to pin Bobwyre when he was clearly beaten. After the match, Beau challenged Spur to take the ref shirt off and fight him. Promoter Ericules came in and said this was niot getting out of hand like last week. Beau ran down Ericules saying he was a coward too. He went on to say both he and Spur dreamed to be wrestlers but knew they were not tough or big enough to fight men like him. He then said how about a tag match. Ericules said no he was no wrestling just a promoter now and would stay that way. Beau told Spur he and Wayne had been ripped of 4 weeks in a row now by him and challenged him to tag team match next week with any partner of his choosing. Then Misty James came in the ring and told Beau to shut up and get out of the ring. She said he was embarrassing her and himself and that Spur is only doing his job. She went on to say Spur maybe little and not a wrestler but he had heart and guts to stand up to Beau. Spur said he would find a partner next week and fight Beau and Wayne. Misty said she would be Spur's partner "so she could kick that Squirrel's ass." (the fans call Adkins, Squirrel because he is always on Beaus nuts) she then slugged Adkins and laid him out. As Beau was checking on Adkins Spur kicked him with a low blow. The line of the whole thing Beau to Misty "Woman I don't know why I let you out of the bedroom"

Finally, Sigmon, Shawn Streets and Trooper T came out to protect the guy but Shane & Siggy got into to it finishing what was left of the broken wall that was up with Sigmon getting the upper hand and running Williams off. .
Frank Martin, owner of the RWA, started the show thanking all those who came out to support the family. He introduced Lisa Ray and Jim"The Doc" From the Train 107.1 the country station in Paragould that had helped promote the show by having Martin and Rottn Randy on the air several times to talk about the show. As they opened the show as guests announcers out comes the RAT Pack. Classy Melton Massy had warned or threaten Lisa Ray and Jim that it was his town and his ring and they would get hurt if they were caught in the ring. Later that week Martin promised the fans that if Melton got close to Lisa he would hold him while Lisa slapped the taste out of his mouth. The Rat Pack jumped on Jim and out came the babies from the dressing room. All the Pack powdered but Melton who was caught by Martin and just as promised to the fans Lisa slapped him silly. When out of no where Jim hit him with a Big Spear.... The fans went crazy and that set the mood for the night.
.
At intermission they gave away door prizes to the fans from all the businesses that donated them. At this point Melton Massy and Insane Zane Richards came out. Richards told Martin that there was a special guest in the building. It was an old man who was a wrestler at one time. Zane introduced his father who is a local legend HD Easy rider. HD came out and told Zane that he was disappointed in Zane, he taught him better than to run around with trash like Massy. Zane asked Martin to give his dad a match and Massy told him he would wrestle the Crowning Jewel of the Rat Pack RWA Heavyweight Champ Rik Burton. As Zane and Massy was leaving the ring they both jumped on HD.
.
The Main event was just that, HD Easy rider and Rik Burton. Martin banned Massy from ringside much to the fans delight. However Zane came out and all through the match attacked his father with cheap shots. This family feud could really get ugly and will most likely continue in the RWA.
.
There were over 100+ fans in the armory with 30+ from the Jonesboro area… The RWA ask me to thank all the fans who came out. Martin added, “In no way was this benefit a success because of anything that the RWA did. It was a success because of the offerings and kindness of the fans. Over $500 dollars was collected as of intermission.”

Hillbilly Jim involved in incident over dog

Published: June 26, 2008

Warren County resident and former professional wrestler Jim “Hillbilly Jim” Morris is accused of punching a man Monday in Bowling Green.

Morris and Roy Henson, 49, a teacher at Bowling Green High School, got into an argument about Henson’s dogs at the Natcher Elementary School park area. Morris approached Henson after Henson’s dogs were around Morris’ feet and barking at him, according to a Bowling Green Police Department report. The incident occurred between 7:50 p.m. and 8:06 p.m.Morris, who’s age was not available, told Henson there was a dog park down the road and that Henson needed to go there, according to the report.

The two then exchanged words and Henson said Morris punched him, according to the report.Henson told police that Morris said he was a sheriff’s deputy and would “take care of him,” according to the report.Morris denied punching Henson, but acknowledged that the two got into an argument and he pushed Henson back, according to the report.

Henson did not have any visible injuries when police arrived, according to the report.Charges have not been filed because the incident was classified by police as a fourth-degree assault – a misdemeanor. Henson would have to go the Warren County Attorney’s Office to press charges.Henson had not attempted to press charges as of Wednesday afternoon, said Amy Milliken, county attorney. When contacted by phone Wednesday, Henson said he did not have a comment about the incident, but did say it was unfortunate.“I didn’t think when I went out to walk my dog something like this would happen,” he said.

Henson said he had not decided if he will press charges .Attempts to contact Morris through his Web site were not successful.

"I hope to die in that ring"

Here is the transcribed version of the brief interview Kevin Eck conducted with former WWE star Jake “The Snake” Roberts last week at the Eastern Wrestling Alliance show in Parkville.

There are so many wrestling autobiographies out there now, but I would think your story would be as interesting as any of them. Are you working on a book?

I just couldn’t come up with a book deal, because these book people are [odd]. Instead of having people who don’t know me take what I say and write it the way they want to, I think what I’m going to do is put it on video and sell it on the Internet in installments. The people that buy the installments and survive the first 10 or 12 chapters, they may get a couple chapters free. I got a lot to tell. It’s going to be very unusual, because it’s going to be about me. [Publishing companies] always say, “We may have to enhance this and enhance that.” What do they mean by enhance? They’re changing the facts. I’m not about bull. It’ll be the truth.

How many independent shows are you doing these days?

One or two a week. Going out in front of people always feels good. It’s sad that in reality, you cannot go out there and do the same things you could do 25 years ago – and neither do I wish to. … I’ll never retire. It’s my passion. I hope to die in that ring.

I know that you were involved on the creative side of the business at one time in WWE. Is that something you would like to do again either in WWE or TNA?

I would love to. I just don’t know if that’s possible. I have a tremendous amount to give yet. How I’m going to give it, I don’t know. Because I’m not sure at this stage of my sobriety if I would be strong enough to accept the changes and the enhancements that they would put on what I write. I have a real hard time not calling a spade a spade. If I think you’re changing something I’ve done into [garbage], I take it personally. Why? Because it’s my baby. Power in the hand of an idiot is not a good thing, and there are a lot of idiots out there writing television.

This is kind of a philosophical question. Many of your peers have died within the past decade. As self-destructive as your lifestyle has been, why do you think you’re still here?

I think that a lot of guys died because they gave up on life. They gave up because their dream had been taken away – their notoriety, their ability to provide for their families, their love. I’m not a quitter. I used to get horribly angry at God. I was like, “What’s wrong, I’m not good enough for you to take?” I mean there’s Curt [Hennig], Bossman, Hawk. The list goes on and on. They’re all men I love. It’s not fair when you feel like you’ve been left behind. It ripped my guts out when Sherri Martel went. Sherri and I were lovers – 33 years ago. I remember being at her funeral and I said something that upset some people. I said, ‘Sherri, I thought we were good friends, but you weren’t. Good friends don’t leave friends behind.” I’m still here because God wants me to be here. I’m still here because Vince McMahon helped me to still be here.

When you wrestled Steve Austin at the King of the Ring pay-per-view in 1996 and he cut the famous “Austin 3:16 promo” after the match, did you have any idea that he was going to become as big as he did?

Truth be known, Vince McMahon said that Steve Austin would never be anything more than second or third match. I said, “No, that’s your next megastar.” He said, “No way.” I said, “Watch.” God, I hate being right. You know, they had Austin 3:16, but they missed the boat. What happened to Austin’s 10 commandments? Thou shalt not kill unless thou are [ticked off]. Thou shalt honor thy mother and father unless they’re [jerks]. Thou shalt not covet thy neighbor’s wife unless she’s really hot. Thou shalt not steal unless you want it. I enjoyed helping guys like Steve Austin get there. Helping Ted DiBiase get there. Helping The Road Warriors get there. Helping Undertaker get there. Helping Rick Martel get there. Helping Shawn Michaels get there – OK, I was wrong on one.

Uh-oh, guess I wore the wrong shirt (I had on a Shawn Michaels shirt).

(Laughs) They have those in men’s sizes? I thought you were wearing it for heat.

The Fake Steve Austin Pictures From Wal-Mart

Here's the pictures of the Fake Steve Austin that was signing autographs at Wal-Mart in Greensburg that Tia reported on this website. He does look like Steve Austin.

Steve Austin visit a Stone Cold fake

Locals fans clamoring for an autograph or photo with their favorite iconic wrestler received a Stone Cold disappointment on Saturday.

According Greensburg Police Chief Brian Heaton, a visit to the city by the retired World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) icon Stone Cold Steve Austin was really an impostor looking for some cold hard cash. Originally slated to appear before the pro wrestling event at the Armory on Saturday, the look-alike Austin and his manager were able to convince the local Wal-Mart to hold an autograph signing. During the event, the phony charged fans $10 for an autograph and picture. As the fake Austin began greeting fans, Wal-Mart managers noticed something wasn’t right.

“After it had started, they suspected it to not be on the up and up,” Heaton said.

They immediately called police, Heaton said. However, when officers arrived, the fake had already split. They went to his room at the Lee’s Inn, but the charlatan wrestler had already jumped out of the ring. Officers caught up to the phony Austin’s manager at Wal-Mart, who said associates gave them permission and knew he wasn’t Austin.

“He claims Wal-Mart knew he was a look-alike. However, they had no material stating he was a look alike nor did they say he was a look alike. People thought they were getting the real deal,” Heaton said.

The phony Austin made off with an unknown amount of money from the fans. Heaton said they are continuing the investigation in conjunction with the WWE. The organization owns rights to the name “Stone Cold Steve Austin,” Heaton said, and is taking the impostor’s actions very seriously.

“They’ve had other instances of this happening,” Heaton said.

Both entities are working together and are pursuing charges of identity theft and fraud. Heaton said they had a name and a Kentucky address for the man who was playing Austin, but it had not been verified.

Heaton said this instance provides a valuable lesson.

“This was clearly a scam. If it sounds to good to be true, it probably is. No one did their homework. Wal-Mart didn’t, the Parks department, no one,” Heaton said.

The Chief said the whole thing had red flags, such as the car he arrived in and how arrangements were made. There was no security with Austin and no one contacted the GPD for additional security detail, which is normal when a celebrity or dignitary visits. Heaton said everyone just assumed this was the real Austin. The Parks department representatives were even promoting Austin’s visit on WTRE last week.

A call to the Parks Department seeking comment went unanswered Wednesday. Phillip Keene, a spokesperson for Wal-Mart corporate, said the incident was disappointing to everyone involved and was unsure how it happened.

“We don’t approve of our customers being solicited in our stores,” Keene said.

Keene added refunds have been made in some cases, and Wal-Mart is working to make appropriations for customers while cooperating fully with the local police department.

Update on Slammiversary Tragedy

As noted earlier, a TNA crew member by the name of Kevin Sinex (brought in from Orlando) was killed at Slammiversary after the scaffolding collapsed when he was breaking down a metal backdrop and taking down the lights about 25 to 30 feet off the ground. "He was standing on some kind of beam, taking down the lights, when the beam collapsed," said DeSoto County Corner Jeff Pounders to the Memphis Commercial Appeal.

A second worker from the Memphis area, Paul Martin, lost his thumb in the accident. Here are some more details on the accident that killed the TNA crew member shortly after the conclusion of the Slammiversary pay-per-view.

The accident took place at about 11:20 p.m., roughly 25 minutes after the end of the pay-per-view. Nearly everyone had left as there were about five wrestlers backstage and they heard a large crash. The scene looked terrible as there was a lot of blood everywhere and people attempting to revive him through both CPR and shocking, but he could not be saved.

Sinex was then rushed to the hospital where they couldn't revive him and was soon pronounced dead. TNA President Dixie Carter had already left the arena for a flight to the U.K. to do advance work on that week's tour. The accident left the crew extremely depressed going into television the next two days

Hulk and Linda – Ruined by Reality?

Even though we heard all about Hulk Hogan and son Nick's plans for a "real-ality" show about Nick, Hulk now says that it's the Hogan reality show that nixed his marriage in the first place.

He tells People that "Hogan Knows Best" might've been the culprit: "I just think the reality show amplified the problems that were already there." Linda filed for divorce in November, and as TMZ has chronicled, the battle has been messy.

Hulk also says that his relationship with daughter Brooke was "strained" after he started dating her pals.

Tracy & Renee Are at it Again!

The war of words between Tracy Smothers and Renee continues! You can check out the current battle at this link: http://members3.boardhost.com/Trent36/. This time the arguement appears to be over a car, along with some other issues.

Editorial Comment: These two need to keep their legal disputes and love gone bad to themselves and off the board. Renee more so than Tracy, she seems to be the one who likes to air dirty laundry.
